Do You Use Ebay?

Just wondering how many people have used e-bay, and how often. Seems lately so many people I know buy/bid for things on e-bay all the time, and/or sell things on e-bay.

I've never bought or sold anything from E-bay before myself. Seems though some people get very addicted to it and end up buying all sorts of things on there, some useful, some useless junk just for the sake of winning the bid on it. On the other side, I have also heard of a few people getting really good deals on certain things.

So what is your take on E-bay? Have you used it before? If so, details re if it went good or bad re your purchase or sale. Do you think it is addictive? Do you think it is a rip-off or a bargain paradise?

Never used it, never even checked out the site. I would think it would be fairly easy to get ripped off. Besides, I'd rather support my local economy.

I used to use Ebay a lot. I sold comic books to buy parts to build my computer.
It seems that it has changed a lot since then and I have purchased a few things since. I've never been ripped off, but I was accused of ripping off a buyer. I sold him a complete collection of Sandman comics and he said I screwed him by not shipping it to him. Seems he did not find the slip of paper from the Post Office telling him they had his package. He apologized later.

Over all it's a good system, all you need is good common sense and you won't get ripped.

i've used ebay to buy mainly junk. i recently bought something i'm betting very few people have (or would want). if any of you saw the film "the phantom" the film version of the comic with the guy in the purple spandex you'll know it was one of the worst films ever. i bought the film poster. completely pointless but i bet you don't have one . i've also quite a few old console games and consoles. my brother collects them. i've have never been ripped off so far.

I use ebay to buy most of my games now . I get em brand new and unopened but usually for 15-20 dollars less, really it's cool. The company itself is worth more than Walmart and and K-mart put together.

You can find many collectible or older items there too. I picked up a classic D&D novel called 'The Tainted Sword' there last week as I loved it to bits and lost my copy. It is officially out of print but really ebay is a blessing for stuff like that. If I can't get it in stores I check there and 90 pc of the time someone, somewhere will be selling it. Although rare, the way to avoid scams or rip-off's is simply by cheking the seller's reviews, a kind of thumb-rule system they have used. Either way ebays policy assures you there is no risk. I use it from time to time. I wouldn't call it addictive though. I guess some people can get caught up in it but not me. It's easy to get what you want and you can find bargains. Heck I don't bid on anything until I have checked the prices in stores. And when you're used to it you develop a knack to what's serious and what's not.

The best buy I've done on Ebay was a painting I really liked. Got it for about $300 which to me was a bargain. [img]smile.gif[/img]

I use eBay alot. Since I live in a small town, it's a godsend for me. I don't have to drive 45 miles to the nearest gaming store to get what I want. It comes straight to my Post Office Box. As stated already, if you are looking for something old or out of print you can probably find it there 90 percent of the time.Just be sure you check the sellers feedback. Read the payments section to see what they accept and when they expect it and you should be fine.

I will also add a word about PayPal.
I have been using PayPal for years now and never had any trouble at all. You can send payments for auctions instantly and securely. You don't need a credit card as you can use e-checks (instant transfers). But, if you wanted to use the credit card option you could. PayPal transfers the money from your Card/Account to them and then sends it from their account to the seller. The seller doesn't see your information or account numbers. There are no fees either. Be careful if you use anything other that PayPal for auction payment. Some add on up to a $5 fee! And some seller will accept only those sources of payment. So read the whole auction page carefully and completely.

So...You can get some great deals on new and hard to find stuff on eBay. Just use common sense when dealing with a seller and you'll be just fine.

I love eBay!

I don't use it as much as I once did, but I've probably spent and/or earned a total of around $1000 with eBay. I made $150 last summer alone, selling a few clothing items.

I like selling things on Amazon.com, too. I made $600 bucks there last summer selling CDs, DVDs, and Computer Games. [img]smile.gif[/img]
