That was no ordinary chicken that you polymorphed him into. That was one of Colonel Sanders famous Elite Mercenary Fire Breathing Chickens. The same type of asskickin chicken that he used to squash KFC'S competition in the early days.

I managed to disintergrate him on the very first shot. The fight took about 10 seconds all told. Unfortunately I disintergrated all the booty he was carrying too so it was reload and get mashed half a dozen times. I've only used polymorph a couple of times without success......I'll give it another shot now.

After this incident, we will never look at chicken in the same way again, let alone calling somebody "chicken".

have your priest cast magic resistence on the dragon (yes, on him, this will actually lower his resistence), then begin the battle with a lower resistence (contigency: sight enemy + greater malison) then cast slow on him. the next spell is either a feeblemind or anyother death spell

hehehe - I've been asked this before.

I have never played Zelda, but THEY got the name Epona from pre-Roman Celtic/Gallic religion, which is where I also got it from. She was a Celtic goddess who was usually depicted with a horse.
