Bugs is now part lobster, part moose, part beaver and wears a pair of slippers. An interesting twist.

I guess that, what with the current geopolitical climate and public sentiment, they decided that they couldn't really get away with a flaming homosexual cartoon like Bugs any longer and reaffirmed his heterosexuality. Kinda sad, really.

The cartoon you're thinking of is Spongue Bob, Harkoliar. And I think you forgot to turn on your sarcasm detector re: Illumina's post.
And it's a storm in a teacup, really. If you've read the article carefully, then you'd know that they are in no way discarding the old Bugs Bunny template; they've simply updated it for a new series that will appeal to the *shudder* Yu-Gi-Oh/Pokemon/Teen Titans generation, just like they re-imagined their star characters for the Tiny Toons series in the early 90s. Just business as usual, but if this is going to bomb, we'll be back to the old Bugs Bunny in no time.
