For Team Marcos:

There were six tables in this room, and each table held ten chairs each. Therefore, sixty skeletons were here at the final dinner. Directly ahead from the door you came through is another corridor. There is a smaller door to the left of that door on the same wall, and the door is open. Peering inside tells you it appears to be the kitchen and preparation room. There is a door on the left wall and also on the right, but the one on the right has no door, nor was ever one built thereon. It is a dark corridor only.

After the four adventurers enter the room and start snooping about, a silent whisp of smoke seemed to slowly materialize above a skeleton that sat at table number one, (top left), and form what appeared to be arms and a face. It turned to look to the group that had entered the room.

Senora

Senora had no idea how much time had passed when she finally finished communing with her goddess and opened her eyes. She had gone to Kaelin’Dar for guidance, sure the deity would steer her away from this small band of men, so different from each other yet united. However, the answer that she had gotten, yet begged to be released from was that she was to remain with them in their travels…for now. Although she had dared pour her heart out with her concerns regarding this group, in the end and as always her thoughts were “Thy will, not mine.”

She took her time walking through the woods back towards the path she had left them on. She didn’t even know if they would still be there, she only knew that she’d have to find them if they weren’t. To complicate matters worse, she wasn’t sure whether or not her company would any longer be welcomed among them. Truthfully, in her heart, she hoped not. Then she would be able to depart on her own way without disobeying the directions of her goddess.

As she approached the tree line she could see the men still upon the path exactly where she had left them. She sighed inwardly. They looked to be quite deep in conversation. Larry, still looked dejected, although he did appear to be calm once again. Taking a deep breath she stepped out from the forest and onto the path calling out to them. “Say, if we’re going to do any traveling today, we ought to take advantage of as much light as possible. No sense in wasting any more time here, yes?” Her tone was friendly and light, not revealing the anxiety she truly felt about her situation.

Larry Silverfall 23/23

Larry smiled at Senora as she pointed out the obvious which the three of them seemed to have readily forgotten at the moment. He spoke back, saying

"We were just waiting on you to finish your business in the bushes. I hope you washed your hands."

...he said as he completed his assistance in helping Morgie to his feet from the fall. He looked at Joseph who had been eyeing him interestingly after his mental attempt at finding the truth about the missing Mage of Shadow.

Now that they knew that the Mage was not around, they had an opportunity like no other to get into the Tower...and take back the candle that was stolen. That candle that held the power to help bring Mistral back.

"As the mysterious one suggests...we need to go. I am betting the Mage will not be gone very long. How can we get there so fast? It is far too far to walk."

Morguerat

The knight accepted Larry's help, nodding and mumbling a reply that could easily be mistaken for thanks. At Larry's comment Morguerat shot him a glare that was both withering and appalled, "One does not speak of such things in front of a lady."

He then looked around, "You are both right, we need to proceed as quicky as possible, however we plan to travel. Lady Senora, I for one would be honored to travel with you for as long as you would journey with us." While talking Morguerat had moved casually away from Larry about a dozen or so feet and had kept his eyes primarily on Larry, but also watching his shadow for any further independent action.

" Well that can't be good " he said softly to the others as the ghost shape took form with the body. He slowly brought his hand down to the quiver at his side readying for a possible confrontation.

Larry 23/23

Larry took the rebuke at his sly joke silently. However, he would not have known that she had run off for any other reason than for what he had implied.

All the while, Morgie was backing away from him, yet giving him a stern look, almost worried.

He responded to him,

"Sir, would you kindly stop staring at me? She's the shapely lady here, not I..."

What was he saying? He had not spoke this way in years to anyone! It was...familiar. And a little fun.

Morguerat

The former knight/current tin-can-man shook his head. Larry was indeed acting strangely. Morguerat had no knowledge of Larry before the fall to the Shadow and evil ways of moderation, but he did recall a rather silly streak in his behavior, tainted as it was by evil and cruelty, but a silly streak none-the-less. "Always keep your guard up," he had told those paladins he had trained, and now he would have to heed his own warning or risk terrible consequences, He knew little of Joseph, except of his skill with twisting perceptions, Senora was a priestess of some sort, and also possessed of some terrible power that had affected both herself and Larry, and Larry... He seemed to be losing the cloud of despair he had labored under since Morguerat had met him, was it hope perking him up, the Mage's disapearance, or perhaps the reawakening of a dark power within him.

Morguerat let one corner of his mouth rise in a half smile, almost allowing himself to wonder whether his oath was truly worth the risk he was leaping into headfirst. He then laughed, "Larry my boy, You are right, you didn't chase away Miss Senora, and as long as she desires our company, we shall give it." He then frowned, "However, I will not tolerate disrespecting a lady. Apologize and we can be off when Joseph is ready, what's keeping him anyway?"

Morguerat then stretched, gripping his staff at the ends and twisting it until he could hear the wood creak, he began walking around the camp looking for any unnecessary indicators that they had been there and removing them to the fire pit to be covered before leaving.

Larry

Larry bowed to the lady Senora, realizing that Morgie was probably right.

"My apologies if I offended thee, lady. I am a back-woods guy that has never learned the ways of a noble, such as our knight here."

Kynnen 73/85

Kynnen took the severed head in his hands and spoke "What is it you say?" The head made more unintelligible words, so Kynnen talked to it again "So you want me to take whatever you have on your body to use it against whatever killed you and avenge your death? Alright, I shall fulfill your request." Kynnen let the head fall down to the ground as he took a look at the body, noting the large wounds on both the body and the armor.

OOC>>>LOL!

For Kynnen

You drop the head that speaks with a thud, and forget about it. Obviously, whatever it was saying was not worth you worrying about. However, the fall did nothing to stop its babbling, and it turns again to watch you as you pilfer through its belongings that it will no longer be needing.

You find rusted steel, rotted leather and traces of fabric...but nothing of interest. The man was probably a commoner of no importance to anyone. Still, three questions go unanswered in this riddle.
1. What is this place hiding?
2. Who were these two guys that had found their way down here only to die at the hands of an unknown intellegence?
3. What is this unknown that killed them? Obviously, the dead did not die well because this cursed place does not allow their spirits to rest, and keeps them tormented about something. What?

After surveying the scene, you have a choice. Turn back or continue onward, where you can clearly see that the long pathway finally turns to the left.
