Should I use Thunderbird over Internet Gmail?

Your choice. Gmail is one of the better web-based interfaces, but if you would rather use the POP interface, thunderbird is about the best choice.

Well I have tried it for a few days and while the email part is not bad I feel the newsgroup part is very, very poor.
BTW I am a Mozila Firefox convert (web browser) thanks to your thread Lennoncook! And I so wanted to use this thunderbird programme, but sorry parts of it suck big time. Hopefully there will be some updates soon.
