Nah I havent seen it mate.... but there really arent that many movies where BOTH of the sides are good in their own ways...

hey, does anybody here like the following songs: Powerman 5000 - When Worlds Collide, System Of A Down - ATWA and Queens Of The Stoneage - Feel Good Hit Of The Summer.these are my fav songs. Feel Good Hit Of The Summer is a very interesting song because it has only 8 words that the singer sez again and again in it and they are: Nicotine, Valium, Vicadin, Marijuana, Ectasy and Alcohol (and in the chorus-) c-c-c-c-cocaine(ya, i know, i shouldnt listen to songs that talk about drugs but i still love it [img]smile.gif[/img] )
if you like em, lets talk a bit more about them . and i ask a third time- has anybody seen the movie Requiem: For A Dream? if you have a friend that is addicted to cocaine(and has good nerves.), let him watch this movie. itll scare the s**t out of him . the scariest movie ive ever seen and ive seen it 4,5 times!! if you see the movie, youll understand why its such a big deal .
i also recommend it to ppl who are tired of all the hollywood "good wins bad dies" everyday movies. plus, it has Jared Leto(one of my fav actors, along with Stephen Dorff and Brad Pitt ) and Marlon Wayans(from scary movie).

Morning, all. Uss "Enemy at the Gates" was about Stalingrad, and the bad guy was a Nazi sniper, so I had no good feelings about him. When I was young, like you, I hated the Russians (the Cold War was on, and we were doing "Duck and Cover" drills at school) and I kinda liked the Germans. Then, I read a book about what they actually did, including a gruesome photograph of a beautiful Russian girl that they had hanged as a partisan, and I had an enormous revulsion of feeling. From then on, and to this day, I hated the Nazis, and in all of the books that I have read, since, nothing has changed my mind about those ...unmitigated swine. One of my favorite book titles is Death of a Nazi Army, by Breuer, about the Falaise pocket.

Make sure you don't confuse Wehrmacht (regular army) with Nazi's - not all germans believed in the Nazi filosofi.

And one of the SS-units that were wiped out at Falaise were compriced by Hitler-Jugend - I can see no joy in the slaughter of brainwashed children.

Sorry if I SHOULD know but what is a partisan Gala? And I must say I dont think many people in Oz, America, England etc. Like the Nazi's now or ever did
I still do wonder why everybody remembers the fact that they executed 6 million Jews over the fact that over twice that many Russians, Communists etc. were executed

You must not have read much to symathise with the Hitler-Jugend. They were some of the worst. Read about some of the things that they did after the Normandy invasion to the Canadians - the Canucks didn't take any prisoners from the Hitler-Jugend, and I say bravo for them. It is revisionist poppycock to say that all of the war crimes were committed by the SS and the allied contingients. The Wehrmacht was deeply compromised in atrocities, esapecially on the Eastern Front.

Everybody that server on the eastern front committed warcrimes - germans and russians alike - It was that kind of war.

EDIT: P.S. I don't sympathise with the HJ - but I can find no joy in the killing of them either

Sorry, Glorfy, we cross-posted. A partisan is a guerilla, what some would call a freedom-fighter, though I personally detest the term. They sprang up on the Eastern Front in the wake of the collapse of the Red Army, and in response to the atrocities of the Germans.

True, but that doesn't excuse it. Also, the Wehrmact was deeply involved in rounding up Jews for shipment to the Camps in the occupied territories, notably in France and Poland.
