I just read, today, that Sierra has the licence for LotR. They will produce the Hobbit for consols. The LotR will be produced by one of their subsidiaries(?). (Also for consols). They may convert to pc later. For details look in the latest issue of PC Gamer, April 2002.

There have been more than a half a dozen Hobbit/LoTR games released for the PC in the last decade, and all have died relatively quick deaths to a reducing the qualities of the original into formulas. I'll be curious to see whether Sierra can beat that, but I'm not hoping for much.

Yup have read that already someplace else. Of course it's an exclusive lisence for X-Box.
I guess that means I will wait till they decide to let the lisence lapse and release it for
PS2 or PC/CD. I'm sure that M$ will produce the best ever gaming experiance, just like the best ever computing experiance. M$ has such a succ.....oh wait never mind.
