Ok...I'm new to the game, and to the forum here. But I recieved some great help with my last post, and I thank you all for that.

Ok, my next question/problem. I am in athkatla...going about my business. I always get assaulted by these vampires and their female leader. I don't remember her name. They slaughter me and my party every time. They accuse me of being on the wrong side?? I don't know what this is about. Is there anything I can do about this? I can't beat them no matter how hard I try! Any hints or suggestions would be appreciated.

these vampire are atacking you because you havent sided with bohdi. the good suys should side with the thieves (despite minscs complaints), the bad guys with the vampire. to kill them, get some negative plane protection (the spell, or the amulet of power), thatll stop level drain. then kill them, the daystar sword can cast sunray and vaporise them.

hint - vampires take MASSIVE damage in daylight. so dont go out at night. the clock in the bottom left will tell you when it is safe.

Welcome Trake,

There's an extremely useful priest spell called negative plane protection which will prevent the deadly level draining attacks of the vampires. Also, at the early stages of the game you can buy an axe from Bernard in the copper cornet after you finish the slave quest which slays undead (called Azuredge). There is also a longsword called Daystar which can cast sunray which slaughters the undead. Also look out for the mace of disruption which has similar slaying capabilities to the axe.

If you need spoilers as to where to find these items let me know so I can spoil you

First off, welcome Trake, glad to have another member. And yes, u generally get attacked like this at night. So rest in inn's and lay low until ur strong. At night in the Bridge District, an annoying fight with tons of them occur, so until ur on high levels, try to stay low, do subquests.

welcome to the forum trake this is a great place to be if you need help. If you really want to kill them get that whole negative plane protection spell. Otherwise just try and avoid them. If your really upset with them and dont care, theres always some cheats you could use...but i think its more fun to just slaughter them myself

Just wanted to say thanks for all the tips. Another quick question, which subquests is it smart to try and accomplish first? There are so many it seems that you get offered right off the bat. I'm a little lost as to which might be easiest at low levels. Thanks for any advice in advance.

Nalia's Keep. Tanner's Quest (Bridge District). Trademeet.
Those are three of the easy ones.

Hold Undead and Repulse Undead also work wonders against the vamps.

As was mentioned previously... keep your main tank with a negative plane protection.

Also, don't forget your clerical 'turn undead' ability with Aerie.
