I donīt think so. If Iīm right Nashkel Mines are on disc 2 and you have to go and see whatīs it those mines to get to next chapter. Of course itīs possible to just wander around avoiding to enter the disc2 areas.

But I might as well be wrong.

I'm not sure, but aren't they Disc 3, and Disc 2 is the Friendly Arm areas? Of course, you'll still have to go to them, as they comprise at least two areas you must visit if you want to progress in the game.

That's presuming I'm right of course.

BTW why don't you want to enter any Disc 2 areas Greg? It's not a scratched disc problem is it?

Thatīs right. I just didnīt remember that there was any disc-exchaning. But its still quite impossible to pass.

I feel your pain. Scrathed disc is a nightmare.

You could probably skip FAI, I dont think anything plot critical occurs there. But Beregost is also a CD2 area and theres no way to avoid it. OK, you can for a while but the roads are also CD2 areas.

IF its a scratched CD, then in theory only one or two files should be affected. Finding out which files are unreadable shoudnt be hard, and if you could acquire copies of them you just have to burn them all to CD and, since BG has no copy protection, your sorted.
