Yeah, me too. A friend of mine asked me the other day if he can zip a fulllenght DivX movie to a floppy diskette. [img]smile.gif[/img] And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Stupid people (read: relatives) often call me with technical problems. The FIRST questions I ask are:
"Is it plugged in?"
"Is the monitor connected to the computer?"

And the sad thing is, sometimes this works. I actually fixed a "broken" printer over the phone with this.
I used to work with a guy that when you called him, his first three questions were:

"Is it plugged in?"

"Is it turned on?"

"Is the hold screen on?"


Didn't matter who was calling -- end user, president of the company, his boss... same three questions.

I think he said it covered about a third of the calls he got. Go figure.
