Is there any way to make it so that Windows XP will close the computer on itself at a certain hour?
I ask this because I tend to stay up way to late and end up with very little sleep, and that's really annoying. Once the computer would close itself I'd get the message. Thanks! [ 11-01-2005, 09:13 AM: Message edited by: Luvian ]

Schedule a task and run a specific command.
Doesn't look to be that hard, really. I might do this, myself. Reminds me...anybody know the command line for opening a file? I want to use Windows Media Player as an alarm clock, but on the site I have above, the only command close to what I want appears to be "openfiles" and it doesn't sound like it would work... EDIT: Nevermind, found it. [ 11-01-2005, 10:15 AM: Message edited by: Ilander ]

You could always set the PC to hibernate after a period of inactivity, although having said that hibernation in XP has been known to do weird things.

Really? I usually hibernate my computer rather than shut it down. What weird things does it do?

In some cases, it doesn't re-initilize properly on start-up. A lot depends on the hardware, and different combinations. It's generally when you have a piece of hardware that isn't ACPI compliant.
On mine, 2 of my 6 USB ports won't start up, and occasionaly drops my primary IDE channel. [ 11-01-2005, 10:30 PM: Message edited by: Zebodog ]
