Just read at Gamespot and Adrenaline vault about this game, and both gave it really good critic. 8.4 and 9 ..
So this game seems to be a turnbased fantasy/strategy game. I felt a bit noosey about it and wanted to know if anyone over in the "early release country US" have tried it yet or if anyone have tried a demo or such of the game.. So if you have please post on!

The Disciples games are much like the Heroes of Might and Magic games, with better graphics (or so I read) Everything I have heard says that 1 & 2 are worth it if you like turn based strategy games...which I do..just dont have enough time to play them right now.

I've got it. It's quite good. Like Magik says, it's not unlike the HOMM series in some respects: you send out small parties led by a hero, claim resources, develop your troops (who gain levels with experience), and meet goals neccessary to advance to the next scenario. It's all set in a fantasy universe with four races in conflict. Each race has its own spells, troops, strengths, weaknesses, and 7 linked scenario that make a campaign.
The artwork is extremely good, reminiscent of Arthur Rackham. Very nice spell effects, too. The AI is much better than in HOMM (for one thing, opponents don't get special resources, except on an advanced level). Combat is the game's single weakness: once you enter battle, your troops can't move. Instead, they assume the position they had in two ranks when you last arranged them--typically melee fighters to the front, missile and magic wielders in the back. The back rank can't be touched by opposing melee types until the front rank is destroyed. Other than that, the game is great. |

I've read the preview in a local games magazine, but I think i'm going to wait for Age of WondersII.

You can download the demo if you want to see what it looks like. I wasn't too impressed, but then again, I really don't like turn based games.
