LOL, yeah I suppose you are right! Ugg though! I used to now and then buy chocolate covered peanut clusters from those bins, I shudder to think what I may have ate now LOL.

Same for those 7-11 (convenience store) donuts in a clear plastic case with doors. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a customer open the doors, pick up a donut, change his mind, and put it back. Some like to poke them too, possibly for freshness LOL. And a lot of these people are construction workers, with dirty hands. Ugg! I stick with Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme now.

And you think Dunkin or Krispy Kreme is any better? Maybe the customers aren't touching them, but how often do you think a minimum wage employee washes their hands on wears gloves?

actually where they place the candy is called a point of sale. it is the way the entire store is set-up, or better known as spontaneous buying. it is put there for the purpose of making you think you need it and Animal, you are right, most parents do not want to deal with a tantrum in the middle of the checkout, so we tend to cave in. most of the time, I can avoid looking in their eyes and just tell them we have plenty of candy at home, but sometimes, I accidently look down at them while we are passing the candy, and I melt

I very seldom buy them anymore, knew a few people who worked there, and learned some rather nasty things about what goes on behind closed doors

Well they wear gloves when they are filling up the donut bins, wrapping them and bagging them, so that's something. Other than that I'm not going to think about it LOL, nah nah nah!

Doesn't matter to me. I don't really like candy to begin with.
