I'm just curious as to what was depicted on the front pages of newpapers nationwide and around the world today.

San Antonio's Express news front page was blank but for a small picture of a black hand and a white hand clasped together, each of them with their fingers around the pole of a small American Flag. Above the picture was the large caption "A Moment Of Silence" and underneath in smaller but bold letters it said "It Was America's darkest Hour" "It was America's Finest Hour" "It Was One Year Ago Today" "It Was Just Yesterday"

Looking closer, the background was not completely blank but embedded with a ghosted image of what was left of the World Trade Center towers when all was said and done on September 11, 2001.

I found it to be both touching and disturbing at the same time.

Nothing so sophisticated in britain that ive seen. Daily mail had a pic of one of the towers just after impact. To be honest I didnt bother to check out the pic or read the paper - those images are ones I will never forget.

Well I had a pretty busy day... (you wouldn't be able to tell from the amounth of posts I made here but what ever...) so I just saw one paper, it had just the usual uninterestin news and a fairly large photo of the towers burning with the caption "One year today. See page 23(or so) for more.

Not the first page, but The Dallas Morning News had a special section with pictures, very small, of everyone killed in the WTC attacks, and done so that the pictures of the firmen and policemen spellied out "9-11".

In the Atlanta Journal Constitution it have every one who died in the attack with the flight numbers in bold. It also had a faded picture of the twin towers before they were struck.

I hear you!
I would have not noticed the front page myself (grandpa gets the paper off the porch early and keeps it to himself) but I went to Sonic for a late lunch (grilled Chicken Wraps that I had to share with Boo lol) and the place I waited for my order to be brought out had a newpaper dispenser right there. It was hard to miss so when I got home I went and got it from Grandpa so that I could see the whole thing.

SecretMaster,
You know I haven't heard of any election results either! Didn't Florida have a run for candidates for the governor's race? I saw something about the difficulty voters had casting their votes but haven't heard the outcome of the vote.

Thanks for your input everyone!

In the Sydney Morning Herald there was simply a black backround with the two towers filled with the names of all the people who had died.
