Can anyone please help me with this? Not the quest but one aspect of it actually. How can I efficently kill the Helmed Horrors, Doom Guards, and Invisible Stalkers without losing 2 or 3 members of my party???? I have no mages unfortunatly but I have clerics. I know they are not the same but I never picked up any mages for some reason. Anyways, what works best when killing these guys, any help would be most appreciated
Thanks

Hey, welcome to the forums!
Do you happen to have any wands? Who are your party members?

If you want, try going and killing one monster, then retreating and healing outside of the room. In BG1 monsters cannot chase you through different areas, so feel free to kill them one at a time at your leisure. Good luck!

one suggestion (if you like this sort of sneaky playing) is to have one character with stealth (and preferably backstab) and the boots of speed hiding and backstabbing - hiding and backstabbing - the horrors are tough, and annoyingly immune to missile fire, but they're slow
i know this works playing BG1 under BGtutu (where they do chase you out of the house) but it might not work if they all cluster round the door - a different sort of tactic to try anyway [ 08-13-2004, 06:13 AM: Message edited by: Armen ] |

All wands in BG1 with the exception of the Wand of the Heavens are mage only. WotH is Cleric/Druid only.

I have Ajantis, Branwen, Imoen, Jaheira, and Khalid, and myself of course which is a Ranger. I have the wand of the fear and magic missles. But thanks for the suggestions, I forgot I can attack and then leave. For the most part my party is pretty good at what they do but those things for some reason just take the cake. I am thinking of getting rid of Khalid and getting Qualye just b/c Khalid is really just my pack horse and Qualye, even though he is Chaotic Neutral has some mage spells. I'm not sure yet....But thanks for the help

I had one tank that took all the hits, which weren't many because of low AC, and survived the day...

How are you getting rid of Khalid exactly?
If you get rid of him without killing him then Jaheira will leave as well. EDIT: Typos.... [ 08-13-2004, 04:11 PM: Message edited by: Neo the Warrior Cat ]

I was thinking of letting him try and take on something way to hard for him on his own...but I feel guilty about letting him walk to his own demise! Silly I know but hey...
Thanks for all the help you guys, I will give them a try in a little while, right now I am taking on Ulgoth's!!!!!
