I agree re the utter bastard re Timber's rock under the slip n' slide! Oh bet you got lots of beatins for that LOL!

I remember having this one toy, these tennis ball sized glass/plexiglass? spheres, usually red or blue or transparent, both on a thick string, connected at the ends of the strings. The deal was you yanked you arms up and down with enough strength, and with consistent aim and rhythm, and you could get the two spheres to knock against eachother above and below, hard to explain. All I know is if you didn't do it right you got nailed pretty good

Elvira Kurt did a VERY funny bit on toys/playground equipment a few decades ago and how it's all changed. She mentions lawn darts, too. Anyone hear that?
P.S... What about The Underpant-Igniting Rollerskating Barbie? And Stretch Strangulation Armstrong Filled With Pus? We owned the former, and I've seen the latter. I now understand why the Stretch Armstrongs were recalled. It was possibly the most horrifying thing I've seen in a child's toy.
::waits in eager anticipation, knowing someone will remember something even more horrifying::

I had 6 remote controlled Bull Dog tanks that would shoot plastic bullets about 25 feet, and it would shoot fire crackers about 20 feet. When I was a kid I lived with in california with my family on our Quarter Horse Ranch and my DAD made an area for me to play army in that was 50 feet wide and 70 feet long. My three best friends and myself made the best war Zone with trenches, Tank traps, Mine fields, Mountains with Gun inplacements. The four of us had some of the best war games you have ever seen. One time I'll never forget we had a bunch of our friends come over and we had one 8 man team and one 7 man team War game that lasted almost 15 hours and 2500 fire crackers later. what an awsome Battle My ears are still ringing from all the fire crackers going off near my head that day. The tank battle was like nothing you ever saw. Rommel and Patton would have been proud of us.

I almost forgot I had over 400 dead guys with missing leggs and arms. We had painted them with red model paint to add to the effect. It grossed out my Mon and two sisters. some even had little swords from cocktail weenies sticking through them and we said the were bayonets.
Oh that brings back memories I still have at least 200 army men floating around in one cupboard or another. I remember my parents walking into the loungeroom and finding themselves in the middle of a miniture war
