But your awareness still proves you exist - as a thinking awareness at least.

If this is true then when I am not aware of my-self, like when I am asleep or unconscious, do I still exist?

If you know you exist because you think...

Would that mean that if I could make you cease to exist, take away the thought, the existence....

Then I would, by transitive logic, certainly exist.

No?

If I were to exist in my own mind I could do anything I wanted like fly around the room with three pounds of Marajana strapped to each toe and a bong the size of new Zealand to smoke it all.

But I can't do that my mind cannot make that happen in reality so I must exist. I can do that stuff in my mind but I can never truly do it therfore I exist outside of my mind.

Except for all the voices in my head. The italian one killed the mexican one.

AHHHHHHHHHH my head hurts now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I dont think existence has to do very much with thoughts and previous thoughts ( memories ) or self-consciousness though.
They already located the ( dunno english term, enzym i think ) that stores all memories. Simply replacing that in someone else's head and making that head accept the enzym, would make his memories your memories.
His history becomes your history, his experience yours .. so basically your character gets formed to be his too. You become him, you are self-conscious about yourself (being him).
But being him doesnt prove he exists

Some people at my work would still be paid even if they didn't exist - if their current effort:reward ratio is anything to go by...

You cannot prove that someone exists because they surprised you, because if you were imagining existance or being imagined by a god or whatnot, it could fairly easily be imagined that you are surprised. After all, if you are an imagination of a god or whatnot, how would you know if you are really surprised or if the gods imagination just said OK now act surprised and really feel it!
And i imagine, that if we are all in gods imagination, that his imagination is so sophistocated as to allow you think that the imaginer doesnt exist. I mean, i can dream up a rock, and it doesnt know or care if i exist right?

hard to write this it understandable terms -p

Any opinions?
