Default Dual Fighter/Cleric isn't a brilliant idea?

First of all, I will remove xp cap so no level problem.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. Since BG1 uses 2nd Ed rules, when you dual class at level 2 or level 3, you will need a less xp to gain levels (first levels) as cleric. You know in 3rd edition, there's character level. So I can start as a fighter, get weapon specialization, 18/90 str then switch to full cleric career, and if I dual at level 2, I'll be only -2000 xp then my other characters. Is it right?

I don't know the XP levels for advancing, but yes...once dualed to Cleric you gain levels as a newbie cleric. If you dual to Cleric from FighterL3, then you will get your Fighter stuff back at ClericL4. Be advised, I'm pretty sure that when you get your Fighter skill set back,,, you still won't be allowed to use edged weapons. Go to this site and read it...

It has much good info on the BG series.
