I currently, and always have played wizards/Mages/sorcerers. I would like to try something else, but there are so many choices, it is very dunting. Can you guide me in picking a new profession?

Thanks

I would suggest...to get you away from spell-casting all together...A Fighter/Thief. You are used to ranged spells I imagine, so make sure you don't freak yourself out too bad and go for a bow as a major weapon. It has been so long since I have played a thief...I have forgotten about what their limits in spell-casting are...but I never used spells except for when I took the shadowdancer class. Then I was using my invisibility powers very efficiently (those were fun days). Maybe if you need to break into a new act and not lose your arcane powers all together, then the thief class allows for that, giving you limited powers. That way, you don't suffer withdrawl.

Why dont you try Tanking for a little while and make a Half-orc Fighter Weaponmaster!

You could use a 2-handed axe, or sword and just run around making the residents of undermountain explode!!

Im all about efficent play, but once in a while its nice to just hack and slash your way though.

I'd have to agree with Teri-sha, go for a tank. I've played bards/assassins and rogues to death, my latest project is a human fighter weapon master, and he should be simply awesome. Just to add a total change in my mix, his weapon of choice is the Quarter staff.
Edit: BTW, Larry, if you put enough points in UMD, and are willing to stock a lot of scrolls, there is no limit to what a rogue can do with spells. Which can be a really good thing, sometimes.
