I'm looking for a true character editor, I've been looking at the vault for about 3 weeks done searches using every freakin' word I can think of that might be used for a character editor. something along the lines of Shadowkeeper or NI, like there is for BGII? Everything I've found so far doesn't even come close, they only do a minimal. No REAL apperance chages like you have when you first create a character.. and Don't say check out the forums at XYZ.com or what ever, cause that's what I've been doing for the last 3 weeks. I got Leto, NWNtools you name it I've downlaoded it and none of them are worth squat! HALE fire and brimstone I can do BGII mods easier.

Is this for NWN2 or NWN 1?

Halls of Advaced Training is good for character creation and level building for NWN1. Chewie from IW made it and I've never had a problem with it.

Not a true charactor editor like Shadowkeeper but has always served me well.

For Stat changes I just use the DM console.

Leto's advanced editor does allow you to change heads, hair colour and all that, but you won't be able to see the results until you play the character. If you want to take the time to learn it you can re-engineer at which levels a character gained certain feats and so forth. It's just not user-friendly.
The console takes care of several additional options like setting variables not stored in databases, though it doesn't list the ones of relevance for you the way Gatekeeper etc. do.

Finally there's the gentle art of scripting. A number of multiplayer modules, in particular the persistant worldish ones in Roleplay and Social sections, are equipped with an in-game character modifier using scripting commands to alter appearance and such on the spot. Sadly that rarely includes the colour of hair, skin and tattoos, changing of descriptions (though if the module uses NWNX2 there's a better chance of that) and a few other minor things but it takes care of most of the rest. Unfortunately the better quality works haven't yet made it to the Vault.
On a similar note, a bit of scripting lets you change database variables as well.
Items, of course, must be designed in the toolset and imported into a game - or the character must be temporarily exported instead.

So in answer to the question, there aren't any real character editors out there. Leto's considered to be about the best tool there is, but doesn't do it all. You can change just about everything, but it's a concert of several tools which doesn't satisfy any but those who're long since used to it.

Thanks I'll give it a shot

I may have to go the scripting route, can't be any tougher then scripting for BGII I taught myself how to do that from the tuts at pocketplane.

I got another question or two. What is the differance between exporting a .mdl, from NWMax, as a character or body part?
on the Character creation I noticed there seems that only the body parts labled _chest001 and _chest002 seem to show up are all the others used for clothing/armor IRRC there seems to be 49-53 slots instead of just the two?
