Using Shadowkeeper I had a look at the romance numbers for each character. I am playing as a human male cavalier and have all three possible love interests in my party. The numbers I have are:
Jaheira Romance-422810 Aerie Romance-416523 Viconia Romance-413676 How close am I to getting one of the romances going? ------------------  Know thy enemy and know thyself and you will never be defeated in a hundred battles. |

If you see those numbers, and the RomanceActive variable is 2 then the romances are already going on.

I'm not 100% certain but I believe the larger numbers like the ones you posted are countdowns until one of the characters says or does something.
There was a post earlier on regarding romances. It was detailed and informative and told you what half the numbers meant. Barbara |

You have to get to a certain number of experience points before one of the ladies says something to you. You have to do quests and things first before a relationship starts. But I was a human male when I played and I always said the supposed 'right thing' to the women and completed the game without them even say anything romantic to me. I was starting to wonder whether it was my cologne
