Ooops...almost forgot.....Lots and lots of BEER!!!!!
Hey there Skippy! I know what you mean. It's getting hard these days to find decent barbeque fare. There are no more butcher shops, just supermarkets with meat cutting rooms. I bought some so-called bratwursts the other week. Yeeecchh!! Apparently, I've forgotten what a brat is supposed to taste like! Johnsonville appears to be the last good variety. After they're gone, it'll all be flavored hot dogs!

You put beer on your barbecue in OZ?

We mostly bbq steak and chicken at my place, although sausage is a perennial fav, too.

Of course you put beer on the barbie Cloudlet - sheesh, have you girls never heard of a beer marinade? That is how all the best steaks and snags are prepared .

VB was my favourite in OZ. Or Swan "Black Duck"!

Cloudette; In OZ, a Barbie is generally a plate of steel rather than a wire grill like they use here or in the states. When cooking onions I found a slash of beer helped to brown them a little.

Davros; You surely mean beer that is passed it's use-by date??!! You don't really waste good drinking beer on cooking??!!

Yes I do Skippy1 - I don't drink the evil stuff. Well that is, I can force down a couple to be polite, but as the signatre says "More Cider" . Bundy and Coke is my favourite quaffing fluid. If forced to drink a beer (ie playing drinking games and I am all outta spirits) I prefer a Newcastle Brown .

Beer on snags and onions though is another matter - yummmm.

Aaaaahhhhh! Bundy! Ambrosia! Can't get it to save my life over here!

Cider has a tendancy to send me a bit loopy, so I leave it alone.

Funny you should say that by the way! Have a tendancy to dring the Newky Brown myself over here.
