LOL you guys are JOKERS, anyway this Barbarian did play through the whole GAME! 3 Times in FACT! (and no cheating exept for keeping items from one game to the next). My only point in this post was that for melee vrs melee he's the Ultimate TANK!. I know any character can loose to any character! But I just wanted to show just how over the TOP this particular barb is! AND YES he is decked out with the best items in the game! (I went through the game 3 TIMES)!

On a side note to all the ppl out there who challenge this BARB! (if yer melee you have basically no chance unless you cheat(non BG2 items) or have another barb of equivalent LEVEL( then it would be down to LUCK)

AND YES BARBARIANS CAN WEAR RED DRAGON ARMOR!!!

REASONS WHY BARB WILL WIN! (responding to ppl's post-"I bet I can kill that barb EASY") let me think, ummmm NO!

First off! Against Any melee Class-> hmm SUPER HIGH RESISTANCES! -15 ac! 300 hp!
24 str with beserk add in blakrazer 3 str or crom 25 base str! SUPER HIGH DMG!
-> only challenge in melee would be another barb decked out like mine!

Second! For spellcasters!-> COnsidering I am lvl 40 I have tons of prof's so I would probably use CRom+5 plus flail of ages!(make you super SLOW) or the resitance adding SHIELD!
-> maybe you get all yer spells of before me! okay you cast all yer spells! only ones that have a chance are the insta kills! WEll let me see lvl 40 savign throws! GET OUT OF HERE!!! You'd have to cast all lower resitances first then lower saves then ... ect... You think I woudl be just standing there that whole TIME??? LOLOL

a lvl 40 mage has quite a few lvl 9 spells, meaning TIME STOPS! also, there is no save vs some spells, and i think that horrid wilting is 1d8 per level, and IF you get a saving throw its half that, but thats still half of 40d8. considering it was during a time stop and there can be 2 or 3 of these on their way, yer screwed mate. also madmartigan, whats a half-roc?

The point is simple : ANY CHARACTER CLASS CAN BE MANUFACTURED INTO A GOD.

A Level 40 mage is a GOD.
A Level 40 fighter is a GOD.
Hell, a level 40 gnome-jester would be a GOD.

Nobody isn't saying that your 40th level MUNCHKIN player isn't god-like. He is. THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS AT LEVEL 40 !

At higher levels, NOTHING can touch a mage. TimeSTOP. (You can no longer move. can't attack. can't defend. just watch yerself get whittled down) Follow with AoE spells, like CLOUDKILL. Rinse & repeat. You would never move. And don't mention your saving throws. At Level 40, a mage spell CANNOT be stopped.

The reason most of us laugh at this is how silly it sounds to run the same character through the game 3 times, and still act like it is a legit character. You'll take him through TOB, and then tell all the newer players how tough you are. Kinda like Michael Jordan playin against schoolkids, then bragging...

hey hey be nice!!! he insulted me first! Anyway I apologize for calling him a "moron" by the way those spells you where describing do have saves PLus cloak of mirroring rebound them! (even aoe) AND my Mr is 60% plsy magic dmg is reduced by 50% anyways from barbs resitance(natural) and spells like timestop have a very large casting time you think i am just standing around while you cast 4-5 lvl 9 spells at me? Even if you get them all off in the timestop wich you won't because it dosen't last that long! I won't be just standing there! I said this would be equal! Now tell me what you can do about beign hit by crom and flail of ages? one will give you massive dmg the other slow you down?

sorry for beign mean earlier Rudedawg, Anyways all i am trying to point out is that a barb in rage mode with those resistances and those saves and that life and that dmg is basically immune and can take out any other lvl 40 character!(nearly) eheh

Now, to answer your question about the mage.

SPELL CONTINGENCY: set with Absolute Immunity and Time Stop. Robe of Vecna lowers casting time to nothing, and AoE spells are NOT affected by Cloak of Mirrors. Cloudkill would whittle you down to nothing...

This is why i never participate on these "what if" threads...
