I'm in the Excavated Ruins and I went down that hole in the room with the4 Sarcophogy. There is a Queen something or other down there with her minions. Any advice on how to defeat her? There is nothing in the NWN walkthrough on this area, that I could find.

If you are were I think you are you can free here and she will have her minions show you a secret path to the drow camp. Essentially, you will be able to "sneak" up on them.

I went in the other way, fought them for a while and they became friendly.

Yeah, that is how I remember it. I thought it was a pretty interesting part of the game.
