killing Shandalar the easy way *spoilers*

*Major spoiler alert*

For those of you that want to know who Shandalar is:
He's a pretty powerful lich that inhabits a house in the Bridge District.
To get to him you need a rogue stone and upon entering the proper house you will get teleported to some location.
This location, unfortunately, happens to be inhabitted by a powerful lich, beholder, vampire, mage, and a pitiful fighter.
Also, there's no way out until you kill all the enemies.
It's one of the harder fights in the game.
Anyway, Shandalar approaches you first and if you're successful in killing him without alerting the others you can isolate each enemy and kill them one at a time.

Here's an incredibly easy way to kill him:
Move all your party as far left as possible (so the enemies that appear won't see them).
Take your thief, (hope you have one ) and lay as many traps as you can where Shandalar will appear.
(not on the table, but in the left room where your party is waiting). Then bring a character over to trigger Shandalar's conversation.
After the conversation run back to the left. With luck Shandalar will appear and die instantly after setting off the traps.
It worked for me several times.

Now you can try to get the other enemies one at a time.

The reward is pretty good.


P.S.
Anyone know if this is supposed to be a quest triggered by someone? I just came across it by exploring.
