I just wanted to share with you what I did on a recent field trip for my graduate class in volcanology:

Lava sampling

We had 6 students in the class, and got our airfare to Hawaii covered by the department, and we got to explore Kilauea volcano. We did have to cover lodging and meals, and of course be able to keep up on the up to 14 miles per day of hiking.

All in all, it was a lot of fun, especially the day that this video was taken.

That's awesome Olorin. Next time we wanna see one of you surfing down a lava stream on a boulder. Holding a stubby and a nekkid chick. Ya!

(In all seriousness, visiting an active volcano is on my top 10 To Do Before I Die list.)

That's just great. Nothing like Mount Kilauea!

Did you do any other stuff while out in Hawai'i?
