I got an email a while back with these in. I know some have been posted before, but I'll put all of it up for completeness.
I N S T R U C T I O N S F O R L I F E 1. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully. 2. Memorize your favorite poem. 3. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have, or loaf all you want. 4. When you say, "I love you," mean it. 5. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye. 6. Be engaged at least six months before you get married. 7. Believe in love at first sight. 8. Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have dreams don't have much. 9. Love deeply and passionately. You may get hurt, but it's the only way to live life completely. 10. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name-calling. 11. Don't judge people by their relatives, or by the life they were born into. 12. Teach yourself to speak slowly but think quickly. 13. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?" 14. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk. 15. Call your mother. 16. Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze. 17. When you lose, don't lose the lesson. 18. Follow the three Rs: Respect for self, Respect for others, Responsibility for all our actions. 19. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship. 20. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it. 21. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice. 22. Marry a person you love to talk to. As you get older, his/her conversational skills will be even more important. 23. Spend some time alone. 24. Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values. 25. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer. 26. Read more books. Television is no substitute. 27. Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll be able to enjoy it a second time. 28. Trust in God but lock your car. 29. A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life. 30. Do all you can to create a tranquil, harmonious home. In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation. Don't bring up the past. 31. Don't just listen to what someone is saying. Listen to why they are saying it. 32. Share your knowledge. It's a way to achieve immortality. 33. Be gentle with the earth. 34. Pray or meditate. There's immeasurable power in it. 35. Never interrupt when you are being flattered. 36. Mind your own business. 37. Don't trust anyone who doesn't close his/her eyes when you kiss. 38. Once a year, go someplace you've never been before. 39. If you make a lot of money, put it to use helping others while you are living. It is wealth's greatest satisfaction. 40. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck. 41. Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly. 42. Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other. 43. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it. 44. Live with the knowledge that your character is your destiny. 45. Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon. I don't pretend to live by all these, or even believe they are all true, but they quite often give me something to think about. One final one from me; When its a lovely evening after a beautiful day, with the sun still shinnng, the birds singing, and you've spent all day indoors, don't stay at home using your computer. Go out somewhere and make the most of it. I'm off to the pub, see you all later. (WHAT?!!???..... it's a Saturday evening ) [This message has been edited by Staralfur (edited 05-05-2001).] |

The best way to succeed in life is to act on the advice you give others.

When feeling guilty about getting wasted in a pub just think -
"I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal labotomy". Can't be applied to anything in real life but it makes more and more sense by the bottle. That thought's enough to keep me in the pub for days on end...Guilt free and facultyless. Hic... ------------------ One love, peace. |

Life experiences..
Hmm, ok gloom attack.. When you have found something worth dying for, you´re to afraid to die because you value that thing too much. Your word is to die for, unless it is broken. Love is not eternal, and it doesn´t solve as much as it causes. Respect, is a word everyone tries to gain, but very few know what it stands for. Friends are people that let you use them, and who you let use you. A life is a peiod of anguish, fear, hopes, dreams, plans, love, friendship all which are mostly lost on trying to do your job. To say that you´re sorry doesn´t mean a thing unless you´re really sorry. A virtual life is better than a meaningless existence. Dreams can brake you down, as can hope, love and anger. Paranoia is only one of may ways to live a life. Basicly: Acceptence is a good one but one great man said this about what people really want.. Make a person sick and to go without food for four days, and he will kill for his real values of life.. Acceptence is good though. It is vital if you have food, sleep and health. Life maybe a lesson, but do you learn fron it or do you simply die? Answering questions with questions are really a drag OK, some fun now to not gloom it all down.. A sucking chestwound is natures way to tell you to slowdown. OK, how to make life good? Learn to minimize life, take a portion and be happy for it, thoose little things so to say. Smile at the sun, be happy after a good meal. Enjoy a hug and friendship. If that is good for you, you will be happier. ------------------ WOLF WINS EVERY FIGHT BUT ONE, AND IN THAT ONE, HE DIES |

DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT
Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light. -Dylan Thomas ------------------ The RudeDawg Known in these Forgotten Realms as Perin LightEyes and my girlfriends, Pamila and Phil |

You love wolves, this will fit in well. Some Native Americans (I'm part Hopi) believe that Wolf teaches us to live life day-to-day. The Wolf's life is simple, and happy. He thinks about the NOW, not worrying about tomorrow, and not re-living the past. He plays as often as he hunts, and cherishes his family. The Loyalty of Wolf is to his nature. His nature is in the Now. It's a good way to live. ------------------ The RudeDawg Known in these Forgotten Realms as Perin LightEyes and my girlfriends, Pamila and Phil |
