Well, then...we need to create some.

Dunno how to make an item, but here's an idea:

Armageddon Lance
(I don't know much about the history of FR, but the description should be something like it was used to repell southern horsemen from a town by some heroic captain of the gaurd until he was assassinated)

1d8+4, +6 against large enemies
to hit: +4, +6 against large enemies
enchantment: +5
Brilliant Energy
Sure Striking
Keen

I would make it available either for plunder or sale in the Severed Hand.

It would really depend if this char is you main tank and what you other party members use. I would keep the great swords for yor main tank(i my case a Dwarf with great sword of the soul-less). I have a battleguard and he uses the axes (either dualling two or using a great axe, if i want reach), but his main role is a backup tank rather than a healer role. My other cleric uses long swords, as he has a Paladin level...
Other than that, they use maces dor those that need blunt weapons to hit, there are plenty through-out the game to serve as back-ups, currently at the very start of CH3 HOF i have the maces of disruption and a mace +4.

Hearing the bad news about spears is so sad...
I:ve armed my main fighter/barbarian with a spear...he looks so cool!

Which Spear is the best in the game? I'm determined to keep him using this weapon! So far ive got the non(HOW) Impaler.

I'm sorry to say so but in the beginning of the game the SMALL SWORDS totally trump everything else. Up till the area to the ice temple the strongest weapon is a Short Sword or dagger, depending if you helped a certain spirit.

Er... those are the strongest weapons until the ICE TEMPLE??? Really? They are just +1, so wouldn't such blades as the wandering sky, executioner's wife, thy-dunag blade, and the moonblade of Selune be just as good/better?

Thy Dunag is Small Blade. And he's referring to the Sure Striking Short Sword, and the like.. There are generally more good Small Blades than longswords, or greatswords or the like.
And Marty, that spear sounds really too powerfull! I mean, Brillian energy and Keen?... Why not stuck a Vorpal in there aswell?

I had not even considered the sure striking one.
But let's recap:
The highest we have of other weapons is +1, plain.
The highest we have of small blades is:
Sorrow's Tear, +1 dagger, +2 vs. evil 5%chance on 1magic damage.
Thy Dunag Blade, +1 short sword, but with +2 damage
Moonblade, +4 weapon, only +2 attack and damage(I count this as a small blade because it's supposed to be as light as one.)
