Hi just a question: I am in Dragonspire facing Erathsmador, speaking ELSERAMAVIN and next give him the Shroud of Elsera, then the dragon asks for the Secret Word so I say ELSERAMAVIN again. But no door gets opened to get the Mavin.
First I thought it was because I let Erathsmador talk to a Barbarian dwarf, but it doesn't respond either to the human Ninja I have.
Is the door to the Mavin in some other room ? What am I doing wrong?

Welcome to the boards, InKey! May your travels in the Gael Serran spin legends that you wish you had done...

You have to click on the word from the list on the left, not just type it in. Find it in your list, and you should be okay. If not, say it to him, at which point it should show up in your list.

It may be case-sensitive, and as I recall, it shows up as Elseramavin in my game...

*edit* as I recall, when you say Elseramavin, you kick off a dialog where he asks you for the shroud. Until that dialog happens, hang on to the shroud.

Good luck!

IMO, the problem is related to D'Soto. Most likely, there is a flag that indicates that you have saved D'Soto and that you have spoken with him about the Sacred Word and about the Shroud. Without having the flag raised, Erathsmedor won't react to your speech.

Therefore, what exactly happeden at D'Soto?
(1) Have you rescued him?
(2) Have you completed the "essential part" of the talk? If you have then D'Soto will end his speech with "Now, I must rest". If you haven't and if you try to leave D'Soto then you will hear "Wait, there is more you must know..." Have you heard "Now, I must rest"?

FYI, the safe way of "raising the flag" is:
(1) Rescue D'Soto.
(2) Say "Mavin" from your list (it's at the beginning of the list). "Erathsmedor" will occur on your list.
(3) Say "Erathsmedor" from your list. "Elseramavin" will occur on the list.
(4) Say "Elseramavin" from your list. "Shroud" will occur on your list.
(5) Say "Shroud" from your list and wait until you hear "Now, I must rest". The "flag" is raised for sure now. You can leave ... finally

Technical notes:
(1) Most likely, you can start from (4), at least, you can do if you already have "Elseramavin" on your list (after reset adventures) but I am not sure whether you can always start from (4).
(2) Have the Signet Ring in your inventory when you speak with D'Soto. You will pass without it as well but it's better to have it.

Welcome to the board, InKey!!!

You've been well answered so I hope you've got the Mavin now! This particular probably has troubled many players but the solution is pretty simple.

Do keep us posted on how your game is going!!

Thanks a million for your indeed extensive answers! Yes I got the Mavin now by clicking on Elseramavin instead of typing. Since I passed D'Soto about 2 weeks ago I can't remember whether I interrigated him about everything there is, but I usually do. I really appreciate your replies !
Got another problem but thats another message

I love this game, it's taking all my spare time but I don't care

Thanks again !
