Probably the best media player available, Winamp, has recent suffered a hefty blow. Nullsoft, the creators of Winamp recently closed their San Francisco office. Justin Frankel, the innovator behind Winamp left and it would seem Winamp has all but died completely. Read about it here.

Well I have not upgraded my Winamp version in years... I'll give V5 a try since it's going to be the last.

Too bad, it is a great program.

XMMS will be ported to windows. Or more people will switch to Linux (for other reasons), and there won't be any need to port it.

EDIT: I just noticed the date on that article. And, Winamp is NOT dead.
