The ending is a bit violent, so if you're not comfortable with that.. Anyway.

EDIT: The story ain't funny.

Once upon a time, there lived a man called Stephen. Stephen was a 32 year old unmarried man who had been appointed to become the ambassador of England in Belgium. Stephen was a man of great influence and furthermore, his wisdom in the ways of politics remained unmatched so the job was well-deserved.

However, little did his friends know that he was an entirely different person during nighttime. Every time when night beckoned, he visited places and met people his friends could only dream of.

At one night, he thought himself to be Sancho, a cattle breeder from the outskirts of Madrid, intent on finding his long lost father while at another, he considered himself Toomasas, a freckled child who had run away from a Lithuanian circus troupe. A few nights later, he was convinced he was Joe, a 60 year old virgin from America whose purpose in life is to have sex with as many people as possible while at the night after that, he fancied himself Dante, the 17 year old prince of the Prussian Empire, hell-bent on starting a revolution, stealing the throne from his father and changing the secular empire into an ecclesiastical one. He would increase the size of the Prussian army by fourfold and reign supreme as the king of the ever-flourishing empire.

On his most recent night, Stephen regarded himself Philip, a mass-murderer from the Netherlands. He drove through the streets of Brussels, shooting at anything that would come to his path and causing mayhem. However, in a narrow alley, a young policeman took a direct aim at his forehead and pulled the trigger.

Once the bullet pierced through his skull and left a lump of his brain matter on the car seat, Stephen woke up. Stephen did his morning exercises, ate an omlette for breakfast, brushed his teeth and put on his spiffy suit. He was ready to go to the afternoon conference and start yet another bright day.

EDIT: Fixed that silly thing. Happy now?

I have some pretty full-on dreams too. Rarely does it go beyond filth though.

Melcheor, the B word? British? Unless you know something I don't know, I can't see anything wrong with that.

In any case, unless you failed to understand it, the point of the story was that Stephen saw all that crap in his dreams. "Every time when night beckoned, he visited places and met people his friends could only dream of." The same applied to him.

It's a rather pointless point but a point nonetheless. Pointy-pointy!

Britain is full of haggis and sheep

England, on the other hand, is a wonderful place.

No, the B word is Belgium. Its a hitchhiker's guide thing. I am very sad and into sci-fi humour.
