Default Target acquired.. my TV that is.

Just got my TV this weekend, 42" Vizio LED smart tv.

Sam's club product page
Vizio product page

So far it's a wonderful thing. Sound is so-so, which I expected, picture overall is really good. No blur or juttering. With the exception of low-res signals.

On that matter, I hooked up my old PS2 via RCA connection and the picture is extremely fuzzy. The TV does not have an S-video input, but it does have a component input (Y,Pb,Pr). I've found some PS2 component cables online, but many reviewers say that they are Y,Cb,Cr and will not work on most HDTV's.

For clarification, I have the original PS2. no hard drive, no modem, no slim case.

I'm planning on getting a newer game system in the future. But would the PS2 component cables work, or are the other reviewers correct that the connections are not compatible?

They work... I used them for years.. (RED BLUE GREEN) cables-- You'll get 480p I think, maybe higher.. I forget.
But even sony has an 'official' set that were like $49.99 at the time.

Should be cheaper now. make sure its for the ps2..

Picked up a set that works with PS2/PS3, Wii, and 360.

On to a new question.
I'm looking into a Blu-ray home theater system. Nothing too flashy, it's going into a 10x10.5 ft bedroom, with my TV.
I'm considering one of these three.

LG LHB335
-found this one for around $310
-optical audio input
-1100 Watts
-no wireless internet (not really major, my TV does the wifi thing, but it would be handy if I could update the player wirelessly)

LG LHB306
-found this one in the $210 range
-850 watts
-no wireless internet (same concerns as above)

LG BH6720s
-finding this one around $270-ish many places around the net.
-1000 watts
-wifi capability built in
-My main concern with this one is that it comes with a 3D blu-ray player. My TV only operates 2D signals. I understand that my 2D TV would not display a 3D signal properly (if at all), but would I be able to connect a 3D blu-ray player to a 2D TV and still have it function with standard 2D Blu-ray discs, or will a 3D blu-ray player ONLY function with a 3D TV?

Pretty sure all 3D Blu-Ray players will play standard Blu-Rays Not sure how they work 3D Blu-Rays or if they can be played in regular 2D From my "Google" findings, its hit or miss, you have to read the packaging to findout if the 3D disk will have the 2D content available.

Also I would think 1100 Watts is a bit much for the 10x10 bedroom...just my thoughts on it.

Friend of mine has 1000 Watts in a room smaller than mine. Granted, he keeps the volume pretty low compared to what the system is capable of.

Put the blu-ray system on hold for awhile. Picked up a 360 instead. Got it at Target for $269.99. 250GB, came with Fable 3 (fun but I liked #2 better), and Halo Reach (DL code, didn't really enjoy it all that much), and 3-months gold membership. Picked up an HDMI cable picture is really nice. I'm considering picking up Thief: Deadly Shadows and Fable: Lost Chapters. According to multiple sources, wiki and xbox's official site, both games are compatible with the 360 (with the occasional glitch) but wiki's chart says that the games are not compatible with widescreen mode. Would this prevent the game from functioning properly unless I change display settings, or would they just be letter boxed?
