Jaheira (slight spoiler)

Just a note about Jaheira for those of you who say she’s not worth keeping in the group. I went up against the Mind Flayer colony yesterday with the following:

Me (sorcerer)
Keldorn
Valygar
Anomen
Jaheira
Jan

Valygar and Anomen both died due to intelligence drain in the first major battle (against the 5 Flayers). I had a rod of resurrection, fortunately.

Then in the 2nd battle, against the bigger group of Flayers (including the “upgraded” Flayers)… Keldorn, Valygar, Anomen and Jan all died, and my main character was dominated. End of the battle pitted Jaheira on her own against 3 Flayers, and she kicked butt!!! I thought I was going to have to reload, but Jan casted a teleport field (very effective defense) on the Flayers before he died and Jaheira picked them off one by one. I think I’ll be keeping her around.

Well that needs to be a first. For not being a tank she seemed to hold her own. I keeped her to the end but in my party she was always biting the bullet I would not use her again.

Jaheira is in every party I've played so far. She comes with an interesting twisted Quest. With a girdle of Giant strength, the staff of Rhynn, the sling of seeking and her Iron Skin Spell, she is as deadly in the frontline as in the rear. Not to mention her spells granting protection from level draining and psychic blasts.
