Need help!!!! 4th time starting over!!!! trouble making right party

Hello all,
Hey i really enjoy this game more that bg2(i do believe}but i keep starting over so after reading alot of post i've come with this party,just wanted some thought on it:

human-fighter
human-lord
hobbit-ninja
human-ranger
human-bard
human mage

Now i know im missing a bard but think i can get threw it,ranger and bard i added cuase it seems from what i read are a must.Well to all who respond thank you,

Consider starting with a priest and changing to a Lord later on. Sword skill will increase as you use it, but you need those healing skills soon on in this game!

You got a token Hobbit, huh?

Overall, I say it looks good...do consider the Priest, though. At least get Wizardry and Divinity up considerably (get him or her through Level 5 at least), then switch to Lord. Be adding points to Strength and Dex as well as to Piety and INT on each level up.

P.S. If you're considering taking Vi Domina along, you may want to rethink the Lord...Vi Domina is by far better as a Valkyrie.

If you DEFINATELY are dead set against a priest, maybe go with a psionicist instead of the mage. Psi's get healing right off the bat, get Insanity (a spell I still use FREQUENTLY at level 18) relatively quickly, and can cast pretty darn good damage spells.

I have a mage and a psi, but no priest/bishop/lord. I use Vi and my psi and a few potions for all my healing needs.
