IWD/HOW end battle,begin HOW(possible spoiler)

Ok, halfway thru playing IWD I loaded HOW, kept playing IWD, just defeated Belifat,now I thought it was supposed to do an autosave, also thought I'd get some treasure but what happened was, I defeated him, saw the end credits, then the beginning options screen for HOW came up and when I went to load the only games there were the ones I did, not an auto one from after I defeated Belifat, I have to go do that all over again, is this right? Also, when do I need to use HOW's cd? Also, once I figured it out this battle was easy!! I just summoned a whole bunch of monsters, sat back and pretty much let them do the fighting for me! Any help here would be very much appreciated as I'm raring to go to HOW.

YOu have 3 choices to play HOW:
1) restart and play HOW (in expansion only), I think they will only allow import characters, it is recommend +8 level characters to play HOW
2) restart and play IWD/HOW by either import or start from scratch, unfortunately you cannot access HOW area until you reach at least lvl 8
3) reload and head back to the ancient oak tree city (I forget how to spell the name) and access HOW there
Therefore, what you have experienced after end battle is normal. You will need the HOW CD after HOW is install I think, at least that's what the game prompted me to do when I still have the IWD CD in the drive after HOW installation.
