Well all I did was summoned a whole bunch of monsters and beat the crap out of them. The monsters really did'nt do anything but take hits

What's in the tombs is not really worth the trouble of fighting the Iron Golems. The treasure was really crappy. For the trouble, there should have been some really good items in the tomb.

OTOH, the XP for killing the 4 Iron Golems *is* worth the trouble.

the blunt weapons is the right answer. The ONLY and i repeat, ONLY way to dammage an iron golem is with blunt weapons. Thats why i have my paladin, fighter, and barbarian all carry maces and hammers as their secondary weapons. I've killed, i dunno, four or five of the things.

i know, but others didnt believe you. Poor guy with +5 weapons probably had one person with a blunt weapon and sat there trying to kill the thing for an hour heh. thats ALOT of diversion using summon spells...

Sorry to spoil your fun guys but any weapon+3 or greater will damage Iron golems. Just killed one an hour ago with a +4 longsword, +4 axe and a +4 flail all causing damage.

But we are agreed on the need for summons to take the pain

I think the golems have resistance to non-blunt damage though (other golems sure have). Maybe ppl got confused by the stupid message "iron golem was immune to slashing damage". The choice of words is imho a bit stupid, as the "immune to" only means a monster has a partial RESISTANCE of that damage. A monster is only really IMMUNE to weapons that give the message "weapon ineffective". This confused me a lot b4 i got used to the game.

What I did to the golems was to fight them in the last tunnel next to the exit to the next area. Whack one, leave area and heal, repeat. With +3 axes, swords, and maces

And the moral of this story is keep some good blunt weapons handy when iron golems are around.
