I tried the wizard slayer kit for a few levels. I had assumed that because a mage getting hit with stone skin up could get interrupted, the wizard slayer would cause a cumulative 10% spell cast failure per hit, as reported by the kit. Testing it out on Nalia, I found it did not work. Nalia turned on stone skin and then was attacked until she lost stone skin. She could cast spells with no chance of failure. As most mages are going to be dead anyway, once they lose their protective spells, the wizardslayer appears to be a complete flop.

I agree. I'm playing a mageslayer myself. I will finish the game with him, but look forward to create a new character. The magic resistance is cool, but not worth, that you can't use potions, rings, cloaks, bracers etc. Also the spell failure seems not to work with me too.

Mageslayer sucks. I'm short in starting a new game. I found the longsword +2 drinker which heals you with every hit. Guess what happend, sometimes the magicresistance prevented the healing. Thank god it never happend in battle when one of my comrades tried to heal me by spell.

This kit is very much broken. If the spell casting failure ability doesn't work, then the wizardslayer should get 4-5% magic resistance per level to offset the huge penalty from not being able to use potions, rings, cloaks, gauntlets. it took a very long time to realize this because the wizard slayer was so effective with the Tuigan bow. It appears as though the ideal character (playing a melee character) is to make non-good a master of the shortbow and a two-handed sword specialist. Such a character can hit with arrows so quickly to wipe out stoneskin/mirror image, and also handle some very good two handed swords.
