Has anyone run into that creature called The Living Stone in the Stout mines? Freyedies always says the beast is down where the Dragon Ore is found, but I've never run into it. All I ever find is Hell Hounds. I don't think he's talking about the lava itself because he says the Stone sleeps in molten lava. I hope I haven't been missing something all this time!

You haven't missed anything. Every player at one time or another has gone looking for this creature but it isn't there to be found and fought. This might be a left over from the original design and not removed for the rushed release.

Ah! Well you see the problem here, don't you? Freyedies warns the characters to stay away from the Living Stone! Thats the last thing to tell a party of adventurers. Once reciving such a warning, they'll immediately charge out of the room and start searching for the damned thing!

Freyedies: "Whatever you do, DO NOT approach the Living Stone!"

Gang (as one): "LET'S GO GET IT! YAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!"

Charges out door at top speed, trampling dwarf miners in the process.

Freyedies: "Why do I even bother? And WHY do I keep telling strangers about that dream of mine with the fire? Thats the FIFTH group I've sent down there this week!" To Stout guard, "Wait, you, step foward ... No! It can't be! I recognize YOUR face from my dream! Not again!"

Ya know, rumor has it that God had the same problem in the Garden of Eden...

God: Eat anything but that.

Adam: But what?

Eve: You mean that one over there?

Adam: This one right here? *munch*

God: *sigh* Sometimes, I wish I weren't omniscient.

And no offense intended to those of other faiths who may or may not have a similar piece of lore as a tenet of their faith. *sheesh!*

My pleasure. And in the spirit of honesty, that bit is summarized from an old (and I mean o*l*d) Bill Cosby routine.

'Course, Bill takes it through about eight minutes of discussion, if not more

Hmmm... as I think about it, I may have mis-spoken. I know cosby did a piece on Noah about thirty years ago (predating the Himself show), and I thought it was in there. I may be mistaken.
