Adobe Reader/Writer ?
Anyone here good with create documents in Adobe that have write permissions on a read only document? Basically like the IRS 1040ez form they send you, the questions are locked but you can enter information in the pdf.
Does that make sense? |

Re: Adobe Reader/Writer ?
I have been trying to make a form secure enough to where it cannot be changed, but able to commented on by an end user. From the document tab, security, restrict opening and editing, enter the password for the document, and then select all field that the user should have access to, save it. Then close out writer and open the document with reader. When in reader though the user cannot access any parts of the document that were set to allow. I am perplexed.

Re: Adobe Reader/Writer ?
It makes sense. You want something similar to a protected document with unprotected fields in Word - people can put entries in the boxes, but can't change the rest.
If you find out how, let me know I've been wanting this for a while, but have not bothered researching it yet.

Re: Adobe Reader/Writer ?
so it looks like adobe pro is the only way to do it correctly. I found a program called pdfill but it isn't exactly what one would call non computer literate user friendly. Ah well, with adobe standard it's only a $150.00 upgrade fee instead of $400.00 WOOT!!....not..
