It's late here and I just discovered www.systemrequirementslab.com which say I can play a few games I thought I would never be able to play with this computer...

Can I trust this site or what?

okay, the game I wonder most about is LOTR online, I meet the lowest requirements and almost the recommended, I as a player always plays at the lowest graphic possible.

This site say this:

If I get more ram, will I be able to run this? Can I really trust this site?

I actually find this site reliable and worth bookmarking.

Thank you!

I don't see any reason how this could not be reliable. They have the hard facts on game specs and they scan your PC for the hard facts on what you have...and then computes the difference. I cannot see how this would lead you astray.

They lead you astray sometimes because every game is different in how it handles the minimum specs. Oblivion is a good example of a game that doesn't really support the minimum specs. Or at least, OB isn't playable when you don't have more than min specs. Some other games have decent older machine support so you would be able to play at something about min specs with decent framerates.

Well then it's the game makers that lead you astray by publishing false minimum requirements.

I have never liked that site, as you are only being shown exactly what the bottom of the game box tells you, plus it often gets things wrong (Apparently I can't play LEGO star wars because my Intel X6800 isn't up to scratch......)

My computer had issues with LOTR online so I dare say yours with 512mb of ram will too.

Though I was playing on max settings....
