Hehe.. well, very early on...

* tiny spoiler *

You can pick-pocket a musket from Burz in the Monastary. I always wondered why he was selling musket balls...

~~hjx~~

i guess you have a gadgeteer, huh? not only can she use the modern weapons, but with her engineering skills, she can make them! and tons of other useful stuff.

so when you're wandering around, if you find really weird things, say like ... oh ... i dunno ... a doll, a lightning rod, a hinged box, duct tape (lol!! i always knew duct tape was used everywhere in the universe!!!), a magnifying glass, a magnet .... stuff like that. keep them. she makes all kinds of great weapons outta junk!!

with all this extra stuff needed by your gadgeteer, you may have to set up a safe spot to store things. an empty chest in a convenient place is a great idea. if your "load" numbers turn blue, you are overweight and slowed down, so dump some of your inventory in your safe spot.

this game makes TONS of use of the "merge" ability. not only for the gadgeteer, but for alchemists, too. it's used primarily for gadgeteer inventions, but also for solving quests. so don't hold back. try to merge everything you can.

just remember this, when you try a merge::

1) if it says "these items cannot be merged".... they won't ever be able to be used together. forget that combination and go on.

2) if it says "josie blow cannot merge these items" (or something like that) .... try it again after making a level, cuz at some point it will work.

well, you have tons of gaming to do, so have fun!

as far as other modern weapons in the game, ive seen the Umps sell the Blunderbuss in the PX. also sells rockets so there is probably a rocket launcher somewhere around there. someone also mentioned an Omnigun in another thread.

Omnigun is a weapon for Gadgeteers only. As a matter of fact they start with one and it improves as you get better with engineering and/or level.

I really do love my Gadgeteer.

When I get in a fight near the Umpanis, they come and help out, and I've seen them firing some sort of handgun. Has anyone found a handgun in the game? Or are these guys so big, they fire a musket with one hand?

Zip Gun (totally useless)
Musket (good starter)
Bunderbuss (sp?) (Killer weapon, easily obtained by pickpocketing)
Frontier Phaser (Ultimate modern weapon)
Mystery Ray (Laser gun)
Omigun (Gadgeteer personal weapon) me mark 9 or 10 now and loving it.
