Who do you think will win the next one?

I'm going for Australia. India, Pakistan, Holland and Spain should give us a run for our money though!

However, I'm bummed we went badly at the olympics. Gold in Atlanta, Gold in Sydney, 5th - 8th in Athens.

Your title is totally wrong. That is the men's Hockey World Cup (Field Hockey), which is totaly different from the World Cup of Hockey. People will confuse the title with ice hockey. If you used the proper title of the mens Hockey World Cup people would know what the hell it is you were talking about.

Yeah, but the men (which this thread is all about anyway ) is still in with a medal shot aren't they? They play someone (Spain? Can't remember) in the semi-final.

Both our men and women's team didn't lose a single game so far, and they both played Australia already. The men play Germany in the semi's, and the women play Argentina, both opponents are reigning worldchampions if i'm not mistaken, but they have a good chance to get through. I'd say Holland wins gold in both categories.

No - I don't think so. The IOC clearly list the sport as "Hockey". To differentiate they call the minority sport "Ice Hockey".

It was the Australian GIRLS who were out of contention for gold, after winning the last two Olympics - they are the Hockeyroos... I always get them confused with the Kangaroos, who are the mens Hockey team..... WHO WON GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!

First ever for the men. Beat the Dutch! Finally!!!

They've gone into so many Olympics as world champions, and come away disappointed. Yet now they've won it! YAY!!!
