My condolences to you and Donna, Ziroc.

Although I am thrilled that everything worked out "for the best", I must say that it was a scurvy way to treat someone. But that's big business for you. At least the $7,000 will come in handy. (I think they did that to avoid litigation, IMO!)

Everything comes out in the wash, though. You never know what may be in store next.

Cheers,
-Sazerac

Major bummer, Dan. I hate it that you and Donna got your hopes up just to get them dashed. Oh, well, as Mouse says: onwards and upwards. As I constantly remind myself, "They can kill ya but they can't eat ya, because that's against the law."

Hey Big Z...I just wanted to add my condolences to everyone elses. That sucks big-time! But again, like everyone else is saying...7k is better than a slap in the belly with a wet fish. While it's not what you were hoping for, hopefully it will help. And at least we all get to stay as IWers.

Hugs for you and Donna and more tuna for ...And smurgles, if he'll condescend to take em.

Nacht

But i don`t understand, why do you all hate Microsoft all of a sudden?? That 7K$ was more than enough to compensate for the "damage". Hey, if there wouldn´t be Microsoft, there wouldn`t be that easily earned 7K$.
Where did you get the idea its "all of a sudden"?

Most people hate M$. Its a fact. Even non-technical people who just feel that things could be better.

Besides, offering 45K, getting as close as having the paperwork signed by one party, then changing their minds isnt a nice way to run a business. But at least they did give some compensations, which is more that I would have expected.

Better luck next time, Ziroc.

Heya Dan dont be sorry i think 95% of the members love to have the IRONWORKS name back again i am one of them !!
But can you PLEASE find out what cause my, MagiK, Sir Exxon and many more the log in problems to IW PLEASE DO SOMETHING to this DNS thing it will NOT dissapear by it self we have done EVERYTHING but nothing helps: talking to the ISP change dns setings ,delete windows, reinstall iexplorer, delete "COOKIES, use Linux, NOTHING WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!! So it would be nice if you could at least TRY to find a solution to this problems! My problems started about that time when i stop "dating" Vesselle in june 2002 after that the problem has been nasty worse and worse for every day, if you look at my post acount and se how ofen i posted then and now you can se that the problem to log in here is wery dramatic "reduced" to almost zero, not because i dont like it here but because i cant log in here also "find" the IW page at all so send me a pm or email what you whant but please answer what YOU will do about this case!
Sorry if i am a little upset but it is wery nasty to not could log in here when i want!!
And this is wery strange i have had 3 Network Speicialists to look at this case and they ALL say it is in YOUR side the problem is we shall look more in to this case and give you information back if you self dont understand why some peoples have problems!
Then you have to "ANSWER" the email we send to you to!!!!! I knove you read this so keep in tutch Dan!!
I dont knove if i can log in to IW the next week so don be angry if i dont reply!! And NO MODS answer this only ZIROC!!!

Regards Eivind alias Megabot!

I am so sorry to hear this Dan, I know how great it would have been for you and Donna to have that money.

But think of it like some people posted here: you lose nothing and gain 7k.
Good luck and a big hug!

250, i don't see how Microsoft would lose 3000 customers - i doubt we have that many members who post regularly, and a lot of members aren't taht attached to the board

Regardless, it's a shame you didn't get the full whack, Z. But what you did get was better than a poke in the eye with a sharp pencil and no mistake

Sorry for The other buyers is right!

Sounds like a mixed up organization at times. Someone called it micro-suck once but I don't remember who. Don't beleive that happened Ziroc.

On the other hand if you line up 10 more potential investers like this a year..Ironworks will take over
