Just yesterday I was a welcomed new user and somehow I've become an "Elite Waterdeep Guard" with a cool shield. What's the reasoning behind that? Could someone explain to me the reasoning behind Member Status and how the progression works?

A befuddled,
Tilia

It's very simple: read the FAQs Well ok I'll be nice (that's a rare thing ) it's just based on number of posts.

As you get more posts your user title and avatar changes at key milestones like 50, 100, 200 etc. posts. So you see, soon, when you get over 4700 like me you get this crappy Harper thing

Thanks Vaskez, I - for the life of me - couldn't find my way back to an initial page for FAQ, so I bit the bullet and hoped you all would treat this new poster with few jibes and much less flaming.

I was assuming it was related to number of posts, but is there a listing of progression of avatars somewhere? What if I want to keep the "Elite Waterdeep Guard" for my avatar throughout my time here? Is that possible? Not that I really want to, but is that option available?

Nah, you can't decide what avatar you have, no one gets to choose. There is a listing in the FAQ as I said. See at the top there's this list:

my profile | directory | search | faq | forum home

but cos I'm really nice today, here's the quick link

Yep, it's the way of the Vaskezoid, lull newbies into false sense of security and then strike...

Yeah TiliaLyn, no changing your avatar here. As you post it will change on it's own and some avatars are better than others LOL, just look about at everyone else's and you'll see em. You can though, of course, have a sig and put whatever you want to in there, as long as it is not over the sig size limit.
