I have ToB installed, and the XP cap remover.
I want to know at which level I can dual to Kensai/Mage without missing a level. I want to have my mage class maxed...

Experience cap with ToB installed is 8 million:

L23 Kensai - 3750000
L24 Mage - 5250000

--------

EDIT: Somebody can't add up eh

L21 Kensai - 3250000
L22 Mage 4500000

= 3.75 million EXP

END EDIT

--------

Total EXP = 8 million. An excellent powergamer combo.

Similarily...

L24 Kensai - 4000000
L28 Thief - 3960000

Total EXP - 7960000. Another excellent powergamer combo (I hear 'use any item' calling my name).

n.b. we 'could' go higher then L24 as a Kensai and drop some of the extra thief levels, however - L24 is a natural point to do is as ALL of the Kensai abilities go up: anything that is modified on a 3 or 4 level basis (kai, weapon proficiencies ect).

L13 dualling is for women and grannies

Dace, 3.75 + 5.25 equals 9, not 8.

I, too, am a fan of Dualing late: You can make the most of your precious few HLAs earned from your first class, and while it takes forever to get them back, that time can be greatly shortened by saving Watcher's Keep until after the Dual. Even with a full party of 6, everybody gets 2 million EXP from WK alone.

Also, if you solo to a mage:

1) Kick everyone else from the party.
2) Gulp a few potions of mind focussing.
3) Proceed to scribe every scroll you have saved up to this point in the game.
4) Erase any scroll you have duplicates of, then re-learn them.

I'll be damned if this doesnt get to you at least L14.

Guys... Tyrion wants his Mage class to be as close to the maximum as possible. A level 22 Mage misses out a lot of spells compared to the level 27 one.

Level 13 is the best choice, as you will only lose out one spell slot( compared to the maximum of level 31).

When he said 'close to the maximum' I just assumed he wanted to be able to cast a couple of 10th level spells.

Besides which... if he has the XP cap remover (which he does) I suppose he could technically get to 40/40 if he could be bothered.

He did not say as close as possible. He said, and I quote from the first post,
Quote:
~~ I want to have my mage class maxed...
If you dual at level 13, the Mage class can attain level 28 which means that he will miss out nothing( unless he has an XP Cap Remover that enables him to reach level 35).
