All they really use at that school, is watered down Hydrochloric Acid.

Sometiems another acid, but always very weak.

High school or JHS? I've never heard of STRONG acids used at HS's, just at college and places like those.

acid eh? hah! how acidic can that really be? You need to work up your pain threshhold, its easy just take some sharp objects and peel out all of your nerve endings once per day...

Too true, Kaz. Did you by any chance see the post on Pandemonium about this? The exact same thing was mentioned there just today.

I'm sorry to hear you had another tooth pulled Hope it won't hurt too bad! *hugs*

Times must have changed, then. We used up to 12N sulfuric for some experiments back when I was a high-schooler.
Even hand soap would have been enough of a base to neutralize an acid diluted in 9 parts water.

Hey, at least the acid would have helped clean the cut. .

Anyway, it can't be as bad as the time my lab had to be evacuated, because 'someone' accidently released a form tear gas into it. My face puffed up for a couple of hours, and went bright red. Not a pleasent experience.

Sorry to hear that Beaumanoir

I think it's still safer to go by water, since that can't really do any more damage being a diluting liquid. Come to think of it, if you added a base into the wound...

acid + base --> salt + water

You might end up rubbing salt into your wound!! (Just joking!! )
