Norton found a nice little worm in an e-mail that was apparantely sent from Microsoft. (security@microsoft.com) The header reads "Use this patch immediately," and contains an attatchment with three seperate files. I didn't open it, and I have my preview pane off in Outlook, so I don't have any more specifics than that.

Just a heads up for those who don't keep their A/V software updated regularly.

Thanks for the heads up, but I only take my downloads from the official windows pages so I'm pretty much safe.

Anybody who sends you a patch to fix something... unless you requested it, never load it. And even if you did request it, contact them to verify they actually sent what you received.

I'm not paranoid, just practical

I agree Bungleau. Microsoft never sends out individual emails re virus patches, far as I know anyway, imagine how many emails they would have to send!! I hope that Animal's post here helps, and nobody falls for their lowblow tactics.

EDIT: spelled Bungleau incorrectly. Not leu, leauuuuu.

How do you turn off the preview in Outlook? I never figured out how.

Outlook Express: View, Layout, View Preview Pane.

Outlook: I think something similar, and when I get on to that machine in the morning, I'll go look for it. Something in Tools, Options, I believe.

And I forgive you, LadyZekke... as I doublecheck to make sure I get your name right

The option to turn off preview panel in microsoft's outlook is just under View. Click to disable it.
