Who truly represented the spirit of the mods:

The Jam / Paul Weller
The Small Faces
Style Council
The Who

or someone else?

(Not so much a rapier - more like a smart bomb!)

Pfffft, Style Council, I think not. Poncey left over remains just to remind us how good the Jam were.

Weller - disintegrated into singing introspective up-your-own-arse folky songs about wild woods or something.

The Jam - credible, but ruined by Bruce Foxton's ever present non-ironic mullet.

The Who - weren't mod, full stop.

The Small Faces - possibly the most mod of the lot, Steve Marriot would get my vote, were mod first and a band second, but it wasn't really mod music although they were good.
