Default FedEx phishing scam?

Got an email claiming to be from 'fedex' (location@fedexDOTcom)

Here's a copy of the text in the email
Quote:
Dear Customer,

The delivery service couldn’t deliver your package.
The package weight exceeds the allowable free-delivery limit.

You have to receive your packagen personally.
Print out the "Invoice Copy" attached and collect the package at our office.

Please read carefully the attached information before receiving your package.

Thank you. FedEx Customer Services.
My gut instinct says it's a scam.
Multiple typos, and the fact that I haven't shipped anything recently also say that it's a scam.

I AM expecting several packages, but shipping was covered by the vendor. So any shipping cost issues shouldn't come to me at all.

Ignore it.. or go to properties, then header and you can see the original IP or domain name it came from.

Unless they gave you a www.fedex.com routing number that matches your 'real' packages, its bogus...

I've gotten a couple of these - one from USPS, and one from DHL. They were both scams. The DHL one was obvious since I never use them.

According to FedEx they NEVER send out email notices WITH attachments of undeliverable packages. If they do send an email, the tracking number is clearly listed.

Canada Post, DHL, USPS and UPS have all had similiar scams centered on undeliverable packages.
