How did the project go? Did you finish?
The real definition of "Homework" is: Work for Mom & Dad to help with on top of everything ELSE they're supposed to be doing. Also see: "Boy Scout Pinewood Derby", "Selling Girl Scout Cookies", or "Science Fair Projects" (from grades k-8 that is ) ------------------ Having abandoned my search for truth, I am now looking for a good Fantasy. |

Boy, Bilqis, you hit the nail on the head! (Ironically, we just finished delivering the last of the Girl Scout cookies this weekend.) The science project (the simplest and least technical one I could find on the approved sheet) was fingerprinting. I've made my secretary and student assistants let me fingerprint them (I swear they volunteered--it has nothing to do with me being the boss). Saturday was a beautiful spring-like day here (the first we have had on a weekend in many weeks), but where was I, cooped up in the house working on the damn project. We literally worked from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with only a 15 minute break for lunch. Went well until about 2:00 in the afternoon when my daughter said she was bored with it. (Had to leave the room for a few moments to compose myself).
Anyway, I survived. The Science Fair is Thursday and I don't really care if she wins anything or not. The thing is done. A great mystery of life: Most teachers I know are parents. By virtue of the fact that they teach they are working parents. Why do they assign projects? Can we conclude from this that teachers are sadists? ------------------ Reeka--The Hand of Death |

Congratulations on surviving your ordeal Reeka. Science Fair projects, such bliss NOT! Heh, keeping thier interest while having them do the work, or taking over the project for them, while they run off out of boredom. It's a win win situation..... umm... errr... no, it's a lose, lose situation All jesting aside, I am glad it went well for you. And I do hope that you were able to find some time for personal enjoyment.
